She does that without a regular coach. Just before the Roland Garros qualifying tournament, Koevermans decided to say goodbye to Martin van der Brugghen, who was in charge of Kiki Bertens and Suzan Lamens.
With her new Argentinian coach Dario Gioffre, she wanted to go one step towards the top one hundred, but the collaboration was disappointing. “It was good to leave my comfort zone and I learned a lot from it, but the feeling missed.”
Even without a coach, Koevermans lives with a good feeling towards the tournament in London. “I love grassing tennis and have never been there. I am looking forward to it,” says Koevermans. “It’s cool to stand there. I want to show what I can do. There is more to it.”
