A 30-year-old woman attacked several passers-by with a knife in Munich on Wednesday evening. She was shot by the police and later died in the hospital.
The knife attack took place around 8:00 PM near the Theresienwiese event area. According to Bild and news channel BR24, she attacked a 56-year-old man and also injured a 25-year-old woman. The two sustained minor injuries.
Officers shot the woman, after which she was resuscitated and taken to the hospital. An emergency operation was performed, but according to Bild magazine, it could not save her life.
The woman’s motive is still unknown. The police are investigating the area, where the Oktoberfest takes place every year, among other events.
