Goedendag en welkom in dit liveblog! Hier houdt de politieke redactie je op de hoogte van de ontwikkelingen rond de beslissing van PVV-leider Geert Wilders om uit de coalitie te stappen.
Wilders is uit zijn kamer gekomen voor een verklaring. “De PVV heeft beloofd het strengste asielbeleid ooit te voeren”, zegt hij. Daarvoor heeft hij plannen voorgesteld en handtekeningen van zijn coalitiegenoten gevraagd. “Ik kon niets anders doen dan onszelf terugtrekken uit het kabinet.” Dat betekent dat ook de PVV-bewindslieden uit het kabinet stappen.
Hoe nu verder?Het kabinet is nog niet officieel gevallen. De coalitieleiders gaan nu in beraad over wat er moet gebeuren. Later vandaag gaan de bewindspersonen zelf in overleg. Maar zonder de steun van PVV, met 37 zetels de grootste partij, wordt het wel erg lastig voor het kabinet. De kans is dan ook groot dat het kabinet gaat vallen.
VVD, NSC en BBB woedend om besluit WildersUit de toelichting van de VVD, NSC en BBB blijkt vooral woede en ongeloof over het besluit van Wilders. “Dit is echt onbegrijpelijk”, zegt Van Vroonhoven. “Hij gooit de kans op een rechts beleid weg. Dit is superonverantwoord”, vindt Yesilgöz. Soortgelijke woorden komen ook van Van der Plas, die spreekt van een “roekeloze kamikazeactie”.
De teleurgestelde coalitiegenoten van Wilders staan de pers nu te woord. Of het kabinet een doorstart kan maken, wordt nu besproken. Het vertrek van Wilders betekent wel dat er geen meerderheid meer is voor het huidige kabinet.

Wilders stapt uit coalitieHet was een kort overleg: Wilders heeft al laten weten dat de PVV uit de coalitie stapt.

VVD, NSC en BBB kwamen vandaag eigenlijk met dezelfde boodschap aan als gisteren: we gaan niet zomaar tekenen, lever je plannen maar via de gebruikelijke weg in en dán kijken we ernaar. Het kabinet laten vallen op asiel zouden ze erg zonde vinden.
Of dat ertoe gaat leiden dat de coalitie er toch uit komt vandaag, moet nog blijken.
Yesilgöz: ‘Premier heeft vanochtend een beroep ons gedaan’Wat VVD’er Dilan Yesilgöz betreft waren de partijen er gisteren al uit. Het is Wilders die het op dit moment ingewikkeld maakt, vindt ze. “Je gaat het niet op iets waar we het met elkaar over eens zijn (dat er maatregelen genomen moeten worden op het gebied van asiel, red.) de boel laten klappen.” Wilders heeft al de politieke toezegging gekregen van zijn coalitiegenoten, hoewel dat niet op de manier is zoals hij het voor zich zag.
Volgens Yesilgöz heeft premier Dick Schoof een beroep gedaan op de vier leiders om de coalitie niet te laten vallen. Hij zou alle vier apart hebben gesproken en volgens Yesilgöz hebben benadrukt dat er nog een grote taak ligt voor zijn kabinet.
Van Vroonhoven heeft wel ‘klein sprankje hoop’“We gaan er een nachtje over slapen”, klonk het gisteren. Bij aankomst zegt NSC-leider Nicolien van Vroonhoven dan ook dat ze benieuwd is “hoe Wilders heeft geslapen vannacht”. Zij heeft nog wel een klein sprankje hoop, maar het lijkt er niet op dat ze gaat tekenen voor de plannen van Wilders. “Een handtekening vooraf, zo werkt het niet in een democratie.”
Van der Plas is ‘niet optimistisch’BBB’er Caroline van der Plas komt net aan en zegt tegen de aanwezige pers dat ze “niet optimistisch” is. “Ik heb gisteren ook gezien hoe Geert bij jullie was.” Ze benadrukt opnieuw dat Wilders wat haar betreft vooral “met zijn eigen minister moet praten”. “Het lijkt erop dat hij de stekker eruit wil trekken. Ik vind dat roekeloos en onverantwoord.”
Wilders is zojuist aangekomen bij het wekelijkse coalitieoverleg.
Coalitie hangt aan zijden draadjeWilders heeft al aangegeven dat het wat de PVV betreft klaar is als zijn coalitiegenoten niet instemmen met een meerderheid van zijn asielwensen. Toch wilde hij gisteren nog niet vooruitlopen op een eventuele kabinetsval. VVD, NSC en BBB noemden het gisteren voorafgaand aan het overleg in ieder geval “onverstandig” om een kabinet te laten vallen op dit onderwerp. Momenteel spelen er ook veel andere grote zaken in Den Haag, waar over een paar weken de NAVO-top gehouden wordt.
Eén ding is Wilders al gelukt: het op de politieke agenda zetten van migratie, het belangrijkste onderwerp voor zijn partij.
Het overleg begint om 9.00 uur in de kamer van Wilders. De coalitieleiders komen normaal gesproken al elke dinsdagochtend samen. Dat wekelijkse overleg komt nu extra goed uit.
Waarom is nu een crisissfeer ontstaan? In eerste instantie reageerden VVD, NSC en BBB nonchalant op de eisen van Wilders. Hij had al vaker gedreigd met een kabinetsval, maar dat gebeurde steeds niet. Ze gaven wel aan bereid te zijn te praten met Wilders, hoewel ze het geen onderhandelingen wilden noemen.
Dat gesprek vond gisteren plaats en verliep absoluut niet naar Wilders’ zin. VVD, NSC en BBB kwamen na een uur vrij eensgezind naar buiten: als Wilders extra maatregelen wil, dan moet hij ze zelf maar uitwerken en indienen. Wilders wilde het liefst meteen een handtekening van zijn coalitiegenoten, maar het ziet er volgens de PVV’er niet naar uit dat dat gaat gebeuren. “Dan hebben we wel een serieus probleem. Het ziet er niet goed uit.”
Wat wil Wilders?Een korte terugblik op afgelopen week, want ruim een week geleden presenteerde Geert Wilders zijn plan waardoor de coalitie nu flink onder druk staat. Met een zogenoemd tienpuntenplan eiste Wilders meer maatregelen op het gebied van asiel, hoewel ‘zijn’ partij met minister Marjolein Faber (Asiel en Migratie) zelf de teugels in handen heeft. Toch gaat het niet snel genoeg, dus wil Wilders met behulp van zijn coalitiegenoten snel extra maatregelen nemen.
Het gaat bijvoorbeeld om het sluiten van de grenzen, een tijdelijke stop op gezinshereniging en het wegsturen van mensen met een verblijfsvergunning uit azc’s. Een deel van die maatregelen is juridisch wankel.
