In Germany, a woman was reported to the authorities on Sunday for putting her dog in a locker. She did this to be able to visit the famous Neuschwanstein Castle. She ignored warnings from bystanders about the warm weather. Security personnel freed the animal.
The police are investigating the incident at Neuschwanstein, a castle in the southern German state of Bavaria. There, day-trippers saw a tourist put not only her stroller but also her dog in a locker.
The castle’s website states that dogs and other pets are not allowed on the premises. But it also states that there are no facilities to accommodate pets. That did not stop the woman from using her locker, despite warnings from other visitors, writes Der Spiegel. They then informed the security guards of Neuschwanstein.
The dog, which was about 60 centimeters tall, was visibly relieved when it was freed, according to a statement from the local police. The animal was then taken to the station. The woman, whose identity has not been released, will likely be charged with animal cruelty.
