Woman in Italian coastal town drove to death by bulldozer who drove the beach

A woman was run over by a bulldozer on the beach of the Italian coastal town of Cervia on Saturday. Italian media and news agency ANSA report that she died on the spot from her injuries.

Cervia is located on the Adriatic Sea in the province of Ravenna, on the east coast of Italy. It is a popular seaside resort for tourists. Cervia is known for the Artevento kite festival, which is held annually on the beach.

The woman was reportedly sunbathing on the beach on Saturday morning when she was run over. Italian media initially reported that the bulldozer was preparing the beach for the high season. This was later denied by local authorities.

The city council is surprised that the bulldozer was driving on the beach during a busy weekend. Several bathers witnessed the incident. An independent investigation has been launched.
