Wibra runs record year and opens dozens of new stores

Discounter Wibra has had a good year. The Dutch retailer achieved a record turnover and opened dozens of new stores.

Wibra’s turnover last year amounted to 286 million euros, an increase of 22.7 percent compared to 2023. Operating profit increased by 35.6 percent to 12.7 million euros. Last year, the discounter opened or reopened a total of 48 stores, including the first branch in France.

“I am extremely proud of what we have achieved together,” says CEO Bas Duijsens. “This is proof that our formula is more than just affordable prices. We combine contemporary shopping with a relevant offer and remain true to our core values.”

Wibra is originally a family business with more than three hundred stores in the Netherlands, Belgium and France. This year, another 58 extra stores are planned, says Duijsens. The company is also working on further digitization and scaling up.
