Verstappen reacted crazy when he heard in the car that he had put down on the iconic job at Milan for the fastest time. “This is incredible!” He cried over the on -board radio. Moments later he was a lot quieter at the press conference, but the joy was no less.
“It’s great to grab pole position here,” said Verstappen. “It has not always been a good job for us. Especially last year it was a disaster (then he became sixth, ed.). This is much better. The last round was very neat.”
Verstappen had been driving around on Monza with a good feeling for some time. “The start of the weekend was already good and that has been different. After the third training we were not yet where we wanted to be. The car will never be perfect here, but I could attack the turns and that is what I wanted.”

“I hope I can get something done tomorrow,” said Verstappen. “It will be difficult, but we’re going to see what is possible. The Racepace has not always been great this season. But this is at least a great day for us. We are competitive again.”
