Verstappen also has a hard time in last training Hungary, Piastri fastest

Max Verstappen

Max Verstappen seems to be preparing for a very difficult qualifying session in Hungary. The Dutchman also had a very hard time in the last free practice on Saturday and did not get further than twelfth place. Oscar Piastri was the fastest.

With that, Verstappen continued the line from Friday. He also had a difficult time in his Red Bull then. With a time of 1.16.162, he finished no less than 1.2 seconds behind Piastri in the last free practice.

Piastri, in turn, was three hundredths faster than his teammate and number two Lando Norris. Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc (+0.399) was the only one who could still somewhat get close to the McLarens and finished third.

Verstappen already said on Friday that his car was uncontrollable and had words of similar import a day later. “If we make the rear more stable, we get problems at the front,” Verstappen grumbled.

His teammate Yuki Tsunoda did not even get further than nineteenth place. “What a worthless session,” the Japanese fumed over the on-board radio. The third free practice went without red flags.

Verstappen has been linked with Mercedes in recent months, but he announced on Thursday that he will also stay with Red Bull next year. The qualification starts on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
