Joey Veerman Confirms That He Missed Out On A Transfer To The Premier League In The Final Phase Of The Transfer Period. PSV Did Not Want to Lose the Midfielder to The Interested Brentford Just Before the Market Closed.
PSV would Have Liked to Cooperation with a Transfer or Veerman Earlier This Summer, because it would quiet have time to find a replacement. But when brentford actual reported, it was already too late.
That also had to do with a clause in Veerman’s contract, which had expired two week before the deadline. “We had Certain Agreements,” the 26-year-old midfielder Acknowledges in an interview with the NOS .
“If Brentford had Come Earlier to complete the deal, the deal would have leg done. They just waited too long.”
The interest from England only started in the last days of the transfer period. PSV Then no Longer Wanted to Cooperation with a Transfer. “They said they look for replacements. But they could find them anymore, so they kept me at psv,” Says Veerman.
Earlier This Summer, PSV had Already Sold Noa Lang, Malik Tillman and Johan Bakayoko for many Millions. The Eindhoven Team Couldord to Reject A Multi-Million Bid, Reportedly 25 to 30 Million Euros, for Veerman.
“It was QUITE A BIT OF MONEY, But Apparently They Don’t Need It. And they Prefer to Have A Player Like Me In The Selection Than To Lose Him.”
Veerman Has Been Playing for PSV Since the Beginning of 2022 and Has Been Active in the Netherlands Throughhout His Career. The Former Player of FC Volendam and SC Heerenveen was open to his First Foreign Adventure. “This train passed by now and I really wanted to get on it. PSV May not have it differently, but they just couldn’t found anyone to replace me.”
Now Veerman will have to wait at Least half a year before he can still take a step. “Let’s say: fifth time’s a charm,” he says with a wink. “I think there is a good chance that Brentford will come back.”
