Uzbekistan and Jordan qualify for the first time in history for World Cup

Uzbekistan qualified for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in its history on Thursday. Coach Timur Kapadze’s team needed only a 0-0 draw against the United Arab Emirates. Jordan will also make its World Cup debut next year.

Due to the draw in the Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Uzbekistan is assured of a place in the top two of Group A in the Asian qualifying series. This means qualification for the World Cup is a fact. This is a first in the history of Uzbekistan, a country with about 36 million inhabitants.

Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov is the best-known player in coach Kapadze’s team. AS Roma attacker Eldor Shomurodov also plays in the upper regions of European club football.

Jordan can also prepare for a debut at the World Cup. The country in the Middle East won 3-0 in Group B against Oman and benefited from Iraq’s loss against South Korea (0-2). As a result, Jordan will definitely finish in the top two in the group. South Korea is also going to the World Cup.

The World Cup starts in a year and six days. The tournament will take place in the United States, Mexico and Canada. These three host countries are assured of participation. Japan, Iran, Argentina and New Zealand, like Uzbekistan, Jordan and South Korea, have already qualified.
