Until evening Seinray at Schiphol, at the forefront of Gouda has been repaired

The problems on the track due to the signal failure near Schiphol have not yet been resolved as of Wednesday afternoon. ProRail has not yet determined the cause, reports news agency ANP. The rail manager expects to need until about 6:45 PM to do so.

The broken overhead line near Gouda has been repaired. As a result, intercity trains can pass by again on Wednesday afternoon.

Between Gouda Goverwelle and Woerden, “hundreds of meters” of overhead line were damaged on Tuesday afternoon. Due to the “enormous” damage, the repair was an “incredibly big job,” a ProRail spokesperson told ANP.

The cause of the defect is not yet known. It is “usually not so easy to determine,” the spokesperson states. “Maybe this will become clear later.”

ProRail has “no indication” that there was any malicious intent involved. Full train service to, among other places, NATO host city The Hague has started again.

For the signal failure around Schiphol, ProRail also has no indications of malicious intent. A contractor is conducting further research into the cause.
