Two Wil Wil Selfie, but falls into the orchestra bin of Italian Theater

Two Austrian tourists fell into a 2.5-meter-deep orchestra pit while trying to take a selfie in an Italian theater. They sustained significant injuries but are not in life-threatening condition.

Local media report that the pair, presumably a father and his son, were trying to take a selfie in the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, northern Italy. They leaned against the railing of the first row of seats, when the railing suddenly gave way.

As a result, the two people fell 2.5 meters into the orchestra pit. One of them suffered skull and back injuries but is not in life-threatening condition. The fourteen-year-old boy sustained bruises to his elbow and wrist from the fall.

The city council of Vicenza has launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.

The Teatro Olimpico dates back to the sixteenth century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is known as the oldest covered theater in Europe.
