King Willem-Alexander Has Granted Dismissal to the Departed NSC Ministers After They Stepped Out of the Cabinet on Thursday. The Ministers From VVD and BBB Are Temporarily Taking over the open ministerial posts After the Departure of NSC from the Cabinet.
Minister Caspar Veldkamp (Foreign Affairs) was The First to Resign on Thursday. He could not agree with the rest of the caretaker cabinet on extra Measures Against Israel in response to the distressing situation in Gaza.
Shortly After Veldkamp’s Departure, The Other NSC ministers also resigned. Ministers Eddy van Hijum (Social Affairs), Judith Uitermark (Internal Affairs), Eppo Bruins (Education), and DaniĆ«lle Jansen (Public Health) Joined Veldkamp and Resigned from Their Positions.
State Secretaries Hanneke Boerma (Foreign Affairs), Teun Struycken (Justice), Tjebbe van Oostenbruggen (Tax Office), and Sandra Palmen (Finance) also Left. Caretaker Prime Minister Dick Schoof Informed the King on Thursday Evening about the Departure of the NSC Ministers.
Veldkamp’s Duties As Foreign Minister Will Be Temporarily Performed by Defense Minister Ruben Brekelmans. The VVD will also temporarily take care of the ministries of Internal Affairs (David van Weel) and Education (Sophie Hermans). On Behalf of the BBB, Construction Minister Mona Kezer Will Temporarily Take about Social Affairs, and Infrastructure Minister Robert Tieman Public Health.
