The Dutch Juniors plays the European Championship qualifying match against Israel on Tuesday 9 September in Venlo without an audience. The KNVB reports on Friday that this decision was taken for security reasons.
“In consultation with the authorities, it was decided to finish them without an audience due to safety reasons around this competition,” the KNVB reports. The football association does not provide any further explanation.
Israel is the first opponent of the Dutch Juniors on his way to the European Championship of 2027 in Albania and Serbia. The team of national coach Michael Traveler is divided into a group with Norway, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovenia next to Israel.
