Taylor Swift does not have to testify in lawsuit between Baldoni and Lively

Taylor Swift does not have to appear as a witness in the lawsuit between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively. Baldoni’s legal team has withdrawn the subpoena, a spokesperson for Lively confirms to People.

Baldoni filed a defamation lawsuit against Lively, who then accused him of sexual harassment. Tensions between the two escalated during the filming of the movie It ends with us, which was released last year. According to Baldoni, Lively rewrote parts of the script and used her husband Ryan Reynolds and friend Taylor Swift to pressure him.

A spokesperson for Swift said last week that she had nothing to do with the making of the film. “She didn’t see the film until weeks after the premiere and traveled around the world in 2023 and 2024 for the biggest tour in history,” the statement said. Swift’s only contribution to the film is the use of her existing song My Tears Ricochet.

It is not clear why Baldoni’s team withdrew the subpoena. They have not yet responded.
