Suspects fatal collision Schijndel on free, man remains the suspect

Two people who were arrested on suspicion of involvement in the collision of a 79-year-old woman in Schijndel have been released. One of them, a 53-year-old woman from Schijndel, is no longer a suspect in the case.

On Monday, police arrested a 54-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman from Schijndel. The pair were suspected of running over a 79-year-old woman from Rijnsburg, South Holland, the night before.

The police do not assume that the woman was in the car at the time of the incident. She is no longer a suspect in the case. The man is believed to have been behind the wheel at the time of the collision and will have to answer to the judge later. He remains a suspect, but has been released.

The 79-year-old victim and her husband were staying at a camper site in Schijndel. When the woman went to walk her dog around 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, she was run over by a BMW X5. Her husband found her when she had already died from her injuries.

The woman’s dog was unharmed. The animal was found that night by the victim’s husband, a police spokesperson told NU.nl earlier.
