The police have arrested a suspect in connection with a missing man who was found dead in Germany last week. The victim turned out to be a 46-year-old man with no fixed abode.
The man’s body was found on Tuesday, July 29 in a burnt-out trunk in Scherpenseel. That is just across the border with Limburg near Landgraaf.
The Dutch and German police joined forces when they suspected that two cases might be related. The police in Limburg were investigating a missing person, and in Germany the body was found in the burnt-out car.
Shortly after the discovery, a suspect was arrested, police reported on Tuesday. That person is suspected of involvement in the death of the victim.
The investigation into the incident continues unabated in cooperation with the German police.
