De zomerfotosessie van het koninklijk gezin gaat donderdag niet door. Prinses Amalia heeft dinsdag haar bovenarm gebroken bij een val van haar paard. De halfjaarlijkse fotosessie is verplaatst naar 30 juni, meldt de Rijksvoorlichtingsdienst woensdag.
Amalia is dinsdagavond in het UMC Utrecht geopereerd. De ingreep is voorspoedig verlopen, maar de prinses moet in ieder geval tot donderdag in het ziekenhuis blijven.
Na afloop van een werkbezoek kreeg koningin Máxima woensdag de vraag hoe het met haar oudste dochter gaat. “Nu weet ik het niet natuurlijk, want ik ben niet bij haar, maar ze is oké”, vertelde Máxima aan RTL Boulevard. “Ze is heel flink.”
Het is voor zover bekend de eerste keer dat Amalia iets heeft gebroken. In 2016 verscheen de prinses op krukken bij het traditionele fotomoment. Toen had ze haar enkel verstuikt.
