Strike ground staff KLM may continue from court under certain conditions

The Strike by KLM Ground Staff at Schiphol Airport May ProCeed on Wednesday, But Only Under Certain Conditions. This was decided by the Summary Judgment Court in Haarlem on Monday. Trade Unions FNV and CNV Must Ensure A Minimum Staffing Level at the Airport.

Duration the action, aircraft from other companies, such as delta and air france, must be able to be handled, the Judge Stated. A number of luggage handlers, counter staff, and technical personnel must be at work to ensure this.

The ground staff are striking due to dissatisfaction with salaries and working conditions. The Staff also stopped work on Wednesday in recent weeks.

That started with a two-hour strike, then one of four hours, and last week a six-hour strike. Next Wednesday It Will Be An Eight-Hour Strike. KLM Went to Court to Stop That Strike.

It is not the first time that the court had to look at a strike at KLM. In June, The Court Prohibited A Planned 24-Hour Strike because it would entail major Risks for Safety at that time. The Strike would take place around the nato summit in the Hague.

KLM Initial Wanted the Entire Strike to Be Prohibited Next Wednesday. But Halfway Through The Hearing, the Airline Adjusted its Claim: The Strike Must Be Prohibited Unlessed the Foreign Companies Can Depart With Problems.

“The Union Still Needs to discuss The Judge’s Ruling,” Says FNV Director John van Dorland. “But we should be able to make the necessary commitments to klm by 12:00 pm on Monday at the latest.” That is the Deadline Set by the Judge.
