Sportwinkel Decathlon recalls two types of racing bikes: wheels can break

The Decathlon store chain warns of two types of racing bikes that were sold between August last year and this year. The wheels used in the bikes can break.

The bikes that Decathlon calls back are the RCR Pro Ultegra and the RCR Pro Dura Ace. Swiss Side wheels are used on the bikes, the material can let go and eventually break while cycling. That can lead to serious accidents.

The defects came to light during quality controls. According to Decathlon, no victims are known yet, but due to the defects there is an increased risk of accidents.

The wheels were sold separately or as part of a bicycle. The sports and outdoor chain calls on people who have the bikes to stop using it and check on the Swiss Side website whether the wheels are indeed wrong.
