Singer Anne-Marie struggled with postnatal depression and fear

The British singer Anne-Marie has had a difficult time after the birth of her two children. She struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety, she writes on Instagram.

“I haven’t felt like myself for a long time,” the 34-year-old Anne-Marie writes alongside a series of selfies. “My head was all over the place. I have been pregnant and breastfeeding for the past two years. My hormones were all over the place and I am only now starting to feel okay again. I have been through a lot. My body has been through a lot. It’s so hard, but it sounds cliché to say it’s worth it.”

Anne-Marie writes that she struggled with postpartum depression and anxiety. Therapy and the people around her pulled her through. “Now I’m back. I’m strong and I’m looking forward to it. My blonde hair is back. My body is more or less back. I just need to stop eating chocolate and saying the baby wants it,” she jokes.

The singer welcomed her second child earlier this year, a year after the first. She had both children with rapper and husband Slowthai.
