Sam Beukema completes transfer to Napoli and becomes a teammate of Noa Lang

Napoli has announced the arrival of Sam Beukema on Sunday. The Dutch defender comes from Bologna and will meet a compatriot in Southern Italy.

The 26-year-old Beukema signs a five-year contract in Naples. According to several media, 30 million euros is involved with his transfer. At Napoli, Beukema will be a teammate of Noa Lang. The Dutch left winger was taken over from PSV on Thursday and was presented on Sunday.

Beukema started his career at Go Ahead Eagles. After two seasons at AZ, the central defender moved to Bologna. He also played there for two years.

The highlight of his Bologna period was last May, by defeating AC Milan in the Italian Cup final. It was the first prize for the club in over half a century.

With his performances at Bologna, Beukema earned a transfer to Napoli, which became national champion last season. Trainer Antonio Conte’s team starts the new Serie A season on August 23, away against Sassuolo.

Beukema already trained with Napoli

Beukema’s transfer to Napoli was announced on Sunday, but had already been completed earlier. The defender trained with the club on Saturday. Photos of this were published after the official announcement.

The most striking newcomer at Napoli this summer is undeniably Kevin De Bruyne. The 34-year-old Belgian left Manchester City after ten years and will be a teammate of his compatriot Romelu Lukaku in Southern Italy.
