Roland Garros sensation Boisson immediately stranded in qualifications Wimbledon

Lois Boisson fell hard from her pink cloud after her successful participation in Roland Garros. The French player lost in the first qualifying round of Wimbledon on Tuesday.

Boisson was on the front pages of sports sections at the beginning of this month when, as number 361 in the world, she reached the semi-finals at Roland Garros. In the semi-final, she lost to the eventual winner Coco Gauff.

Due to her successful participation in Roland Garros, Boisson jumped to 65th place in the world rankings. But that rise came too late to be directly admitted to the Wimbledon main tournament.

Boisson hoped for a wildcard, just like at Roland Garros, but was denied by the Wimbledon organization. There was a lot of criticism of that choice in France.

Boisson did not manage to reach the main tournament on her own. She surprisingly lost in three sets to the Canadian Carson Branstine: 2-6, 7-6 (1) and 4-6.
