Robert Jan from the previous B&B Vol liefde season has responded to the breakup with Suzanne. Last week it was announced that their relationship was over. He boarded the plane on Tuesday to talk to his ex, he writes on Instagram.
Robert Jan received several women in his bed and breakfast in the Scottish Highlands last year, including Suzanne.
Suzanne previously shared that the breakup caused her a lot of pain. “Unfortunately, reality sometimes turns out to be different than you think or hope and it has become clear that our norms and values do not entirely match,” she wrote on Instagram. “My heart is in pieces. But I know that choosing myself now is the right thing to do, even if it’s not easy.”
According to Robert Jan, many assumptions were made after Suzanne’s message about what happened between them. “I can deal with that by now,” writes the B&B owner. “But when these have nothing to do with reality and, above all, cause damage, that is unacceptable and reprehensible. And certainly when children are involved!”
Robert Jan says that he and Suzanne have now had a good conversation. “We have taken the time to listen to each other very carefully. I now understand that I have crossed a line with her and I should have dealt with it differently.”
“Relationships that take place in public are not always easy. Suzanne and I continue to treat each other with respect and we are sincerely grateful for everything we have been able to experience together with all the associated memories.”
