Rivièra Maison continues as a wholesaler, but stores close forever

The own stores and the webshop of the bankrupt home store chain Rivièra Maison are definitely closed. The wholesale activities of the furniture brand make a restart, reports owner Dutch Interior Tuesday.

“In the new set-up, Dutch Interior will fully focus on strengthening the brand via the (inter) national dealer network. It was consciously decided not to continue with the own stores of Rivièra Maison. Our focus is on cooperation with independent retail partners, both at home and abroad,” says the company from Barneveld.

Financial details of the restart were not announced. Dutch Interior will not take over the employees of Rivièra Maison, a spokesperson tells ANP . Curator Erik Schuurs said earlier this month that several interested parties had reported.

Rivièra Maison fell into financial problems due to falling sales. “Given the liquidity problems, the Teunissen family, the owner, had to apply for bankruptcy for Dutch activities. The inflation after Corona and the war in Ukraine changed consumer behavior,” Schuurs said last month.

Rivièra Maison had seven stores in the Netherlands. The brand and accessories of the brand are also sold at many other points of sale in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.
