Riots in The Hague after demonstration in Malieveld for stricter asylum policy

A Demonstration for Stricter Asylum Policies Escalated Into Riots in the Hague on Saturday. Demonstrators Entered the A12 Highway and Attacked the Police. The Riot Police (Me) then Cleared the Malieveld, But The Rioters Moved to the City Center.

The Demonstration Got Out of Hand at the Beginning of the Afternoon When Hundreds of Protesters Walked Onto the A12. The Police Were Pelted with Stones, Poles, and Fireworks. The Riot Police (Me) Were deployed, and a state of emergency was declared.

After permission from Mayor Jan van Zanen, The Me Used Two Water Cannons. The Protesters Then Ran Off the Highway, which was Quickly Cleared Again. The Malieveld Remained Restless. Among Other Things, A Police Car was Set on Fire and Turned Upside Down. IT was extingughed by one of the water cannons.
