Princess Amalia celebrates the end of Bachelor period with ceremony in Concertgebouw

Princess Amalia attended the UvA Graduation Ceremony at the Royal Concertgebouw on Monday, marking the end of her bachelor’s degree. The Princess of Orange still needs to complete one course.

King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, and Princesses Beatrix, Alexia, and Ariane were present at the ceremony.

Due to her broken arm, the princess has been granted an extension for one course in her bachelor’s program in Politics, Psychology, Law, and Economics (PPLE) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Once she successfully completes this course, she will receive her bachelor’s degree.

For her thesis, Amalia researched the world of artificial intelligence and European fundamental rights. She examined the tensions between European legislation surrounding AI and fundamental rights.

It was previously announced that Amalia will begin her bachelor’s degree in Dutch Law at the UvA in the new academic year. She will also follow the training program at the Defensity College.
