Pommelien Thijs will release her second album on October 3rd. The Flemish singer announced this on Sunday during her performance at the Belgian festival Rock Werchter. The album will be titled Gedoe.
It is the follow-up to Per Ongeluk, which was released in 2023. During her show at Rock Werchter, Thijs performed on the festival’s stage for the first time. “This is quite overwhelming: last time I was here as a visitor, my phone was dead and I lost my friends. And now this,” she said according to the VRT.
She thanked the audience for their support over the past years. “I am extremely grateful for the patience I have been given to do all of this. You have changed my life enormously in recent years. Everything has been a lot, fast and incredibly fun.”
Her popularity is also growing in the Netherlands. Thijs has already collaborated with Dutch artists such as Jaap Reesema and MEAU, and will perform at AFAS Live on February 27th, her largest Dutch show to date. In addition to her work as a singer, Thijs is also an actress; the Dutch audience mainly knows her from the Netflix series Knokke Off, in which she plays a leading role.
