The police seized images of nine suspects in nine different child porn investigations. The suspects were not arrested.
The police have taken data carriers from the houses of the suspects with the images on it. These include USB sticks, hard drives, memory cards or telephones and computers.
The suspects are between 21 and 62 years old and come from Rotterdam, Dordrecht and Barendrecht. The police tracked them down after reports from cloud services and social media companies.
The seizures are part of an umbrella investigation with the name Safe Haven of the Fighting Child pornography and Child Sex Tourism (TBKK) of the Rotterdam Police Unit. That team urgently picked up the nine cases.
“These suspects maintained the demand for child pornography and thus the abuse of children,” says team leader Dennis Snow in a statement. “Reason for us to fully focus on this so that downloading and possessing child pornography does not remain with impunity.”
The Public Prosecution Service continues the investigation and is looking for victims who can be seen on the images.
