Police put an end to illegal carmeeting with around 600 cars in Limburg

The police ended an illegal car meeting in Limburg on the night from Saturday to Sunday. About six hundred cars gathered at an industrial site in Ittervoort. The meeting caused nuisance, among other things.

The cars mainly came from Germany, the police write. Around 10:00 PM, the vehicles gathered in a so-called car meeting. That is a gathering for car enthusiasts to show each other their modified cars.

According to the police, the meeting caused nuisance due to fireworks, loud music, and reckless driving. No people were arrested, but some drivers did receive a fine. These fines were for dangerous driving, calling behind the wheel, and displaying incorrect license plates, among other things.

After police intervention, the group dispersed towards Venlo. There, the cars tried to come together again. The police closed access roads and ordered those present to leave, thereby preventing a new car meeting. Around 0:30 AM, the situation was under control, the police report.
