Pogacar and Evenepoel see the difference become a little smaller: 'Was not very dominant'

Tadej Pogacar Claimed the European Title in France on Sunday after A 75-kilometer Solo Ride. The Slovenian Dominated Just Last Week at the World Championships, but this time had more trouble with Remco Evenepoel. The Belgian Saw a Silver Lining in That.

“When I was riding alone, I tried to consolidate the gap to a minute,” the 27-year-old pogacar reflected. “I thought that was a somewhat stable lead. But it was very dominant today. Remco Kept Chasing me until the end, and I really had to push hard until the finish.”

Evenepoel also noted that he managed to approach pogacar’s level a bit more this time. “It’s the first time I could keep up for so long,” the 25-year-old Belgian Said. “That’s the positive. But at the same time, it’s a sign that’s still work to be done to be able to follow him in such an attack.”

While Pogacar had a minute and a half lead about Number Two Evenepoel at the World Championships in Rwanda Last Week, The Difference This Time was limited to 31 Seconds. Still, it does little to detract from the dominance of the best rider in the world.

“If you see those differentences: he stood out again,” Evenepoel Said. “I’m getting a little closer, the rest is very far away again. The differentences are almost bigger than in Rwanda.”

Pogacar Realizes How Special It is what he is showing. “I have to enjoy it while I can. It’s a great honor that I win today. I want to try to become a better version or myself every year and i also Enjoy Doing More Different races.”
