Jessica Painter Convincingly Qualified for the Shot Put Final At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo On Saturday. The 26-year-old from Volendam recorded a distance of 18.98 meters in the Qualifications, which was more than Enough to compete for the medals later today.

Painter Has Already Achieved Considerable Success This Year. She won Gold at the European Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn in March with a Dutch Record of 20.69 meters and two weeks later, Silver at the World Championships won in Nanjing (China).

In Tokyo, painter is Aiming for Her Second Outdoor World Championship Medal. In 2022, She won Bronze at the World Championships in Eugene. She is also a two-time European Champion (2022 and 2024).

Jorinde van Klinken, who won Silver in the Discus Throw Last Sunday, Did Not Qualify for the Final. Her distance or 17.45 meters was not among the best twelve shot putters who will go to the final. The Final Starts Today at 12:54 pm in the Japan National Stadium.

Of the twelve finalists, Only one has ever put the shot further than painter’s personal record (20.69). The American Chase Jackson has a personal record of 20.95 meters.

‘I get too stressed’

Painter Said after the Qualification that her body is tired after a long season. “I hope to go full throttle in the final with two red bulls and throw every. I want to show one more that I can do it.”

She was dreading the qualification. Despite Her Experience, painter is Still Afraid That Things Will Go Wrong. “With the right tactics, I can ignore that. I was able to put the shot calmly and knew that 18.98 was Enough.”

Before the final, she will try out “all sorts of things” to make herself less stressed, painter announced. “I get too stressed and that has to be sorted out. We’ll find out in the final if it works.”
