Jelle ten Rouwelaar will start working as a goalkeeping coach for Brighton & Hove Albion. The 44-year-old goalkeeping coach will be working with Dutch national team goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen again, after previously working together at Anderlecht with the former NAC and PSV goalkeeper.
Ten Rouwelaar comes from Leicester City, where he worked with the now-dismissed coach Ruud van Nistelrooij. Brighton is Ten Rouwelaar’s fourth employer in a single year. Earlier this year, he also worked for Ajax, Burnley, and Manchester United.
At Ajax, he only worked for two months, when he made the move to United with Erik ten Hag. After Ten Hag’s dismissal, Ten Rouwelaar also had to leave Old Trafford.
Ten Rouwelaar and Verbruggen have worked together before. The 22-year-old Dutch national team goalkeeper worked with Ten Rouwelaar for two seasons at Anderlecht, who also met Verbruggen at NAC.
Brighton coach Fabian Hürzeler is happy with the arrival of Ten Rouwelaar. “Jelle is an excellent coach and we are very happy to have him join us. He has so much experience with European football and the Premier League and will be a valuable addition to our technical staff. We look forward to working with him.”
