On appeal against acquittal of the suspect in the Tamara Elbaz case

The Amsterdam Public Prosecution Service is appealing the acquittal of a 21-year-old man suspected of theft from the home of reality star Tamara Elbaz. A spokesperson confirmed this to news agency ANP on Wednesday.

The man, Nassar E., was accused of conspiring with two others to steal valuables from Elbaz’s home. The court acquitted him of this charge. The Public Prosecution Service (OM) had demanded two years in prison for this suspicion.

E. was convicted of possessing a loaded firearm. He received a prison sentence of fifteen months for that, four of which were suspended. The OM had demanded two years for the theft.

The Public Prosecution Service is not appealing the conviction for the possession of the weapon. The Public Prosecution Service had demanded a year in prison for the possession of the weapon.

Reality star Elbaz is best known for her participation in the Videoland series The Real Housewives of Amsterdam. It is not yet known when the appeal will be heard.
