NSC enters elections with familiar faces, Van Vroonhoven in place 2

NSC (New Social Contract) is entertaining the Elections with Familiar Faces at the top of the candidate list, Despite The Departure of Several Prominent Party Members. In Addition to Leader Eddy van Hijum, Former Party Leader Nicolien van Vroonhoven (in Second Place) and Outgoing Minister of the Interior Judith Uitermark (Third) Lead The List.

The party published its 36-person Draft Candidate List on Thursday. Members of Parliament Merlien Welzijn and Outgoing State Secretary Tjebbe van Oostenbruggen (Fiscal Affairs, Tax and Customs Administration) are in Fourth and Fifth Place.

Several Prominent NSC Members, Including Former State Secretary Folkert Idsinga and Members of Parliament Olger van Dijk and Jesse Six Dijkstra, Already Indicated that they did not want to return to the list.

Now it appears That Several Ministers Put Forward by NSC ALSO DO NOT Want to Return to Parliament. These include Outgoing Ministers Caspar Veldkamp (Foreign Affairs) and Daniƫlle Jansen (Public Health, Welfare and Sport), Who Were On The List in the Previous Elections. Outgoing minister Eppo Bruins and Outgoing State Secretary Teun Struycken (Legal Protection) were not on the nsc list last time and are not on it this election either.

There are also new names on the list. The Highest Newcomer is supervisor and Sustainability Economist Jurr van Dalen, Followed by Thomas Beukema in Elevth Place. He is Currently Chairman or Young Social Contract, The Youth Branch of NSC.

NSC Faces Difficult Elections

The Big Missing name on the list is of course that of party founder Pieter Omtzigt. He announced in April that would leave national politics with immediate effect. Duration the Congress Last Spring, the hinted that would continue to play a role in the party, but it is still unclear in what way.

NSC, which Regularly Struggled with its participation in the Coalition with PVV, VVD and BBB, has had to do without its spiritual Father Since Omtzigt’s Departure. The party is determined to continue, but is in a bad position in the polls.

These Currently Point to Zero to Two Seats for the Party, which Entered Parliament with Twenty Seats in the Previous Elections. It is Therefore Questionable Whether Many of the Aforementioned NSC Members Will Return to Parliament.

Leader of Hijum PreviOutly Spoke of Challenging Elections and Said that the party “Must work hard to regain the trust of voters”.

Government does not have ‘basic things in order’ Accordance to NSC

Last week, NSC Presented the Plans with which the Party Wants To Do That. The Party Program ‘Taking Care of Security’ is very similar to the election program with which the party Entered the Previous Elections.

NSC Once Again Insists That The Government Does Not Have the Basics in Order. “The Ideals for which our party was founded are unchanged,” the program States. That is Why the Constitutional Court and the Recovery Operations of the Benefits Scandal and the Wia Problems Have (Again) Been Given a Place In The Party Plans.

The Party also Wants To Focus Again on Security of Existence and, Among Other Things, A Minimum Wage of 18 euros per Hour and A Fund of 2 Billion Euros to Accelate Housing Construction. The Nato Standard of Spending 3.5 percent or GDP on Defense must be achieved, but accordance to nsc “the security of existence of people should never be jeopardized.”

It is Still A Draft Election Program and Candidate List. On September 6, The Members of NSC Will Approve the Plans.
