Danny Noppert has qualified for the quarterfinals at the Dutch Darts Championship in Rosmalen on Sunday. The Frisian won after a fine comeback with 6-5 against the Australian Damon Heta.
All legs went with the darts, until Heta placed a break at 3-3. Noppert also lost the eighth leg, leaving Heta needing only one more leg for the victory.
But Noppert showed resilience with the Dutch crowd behind him. ‘The Freeze’ won his own leg, broke Heta, and struck on his second match dart on double-10.
Later on Sunday afternoon, Dirk van Duijvenbode and Wessel Nijman hope to join Noppert in the quarterfinals. They will meet in a Dutch clash.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for Sunday evening. In it, Noppert will face Johnny Clayton. The fourth-seeded Welshman won his eighth-final match with 6-5 against Ross Smith.
