Danny Noppert and Gian van Veen started the World Cup of Darts on Thursday with a convincing victory. The Dutch duo was too strong for Italy in the first group match with 4-0 in legs.
Noppert and Van Veen were clearly stronger than Michele Turetta and Massimo Dalla. The Orange couple averaged 95.43 per three darts, while the Italians recorded an average of 75.14.
Noppert and Van Veen will play their second group match on Friday in the pool of three countries. Only the group winner advances to the round of 16.
The Netherlands has won the World Cup of Darts four times. The last time this happened was in 2018. Then Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld appeared on the oche.
