Briljante Breinen, Linda de Mol’s new knowledge quiz, will be shown on RTL 4 from August 30. The Talpa presenter is making a one-off move to RTL for the program.
The candidates of Briljante Breinen live under one roof in the program. There they sleep, eat and study and compete against each other to become “the most brilliant brain of 2025”. De Mol functions as director and tests the candidates on skills such as arithmetic, language and general knowledge. The memory of the candidates is also tested.
The knowledge quiz was devised by De Mol. She pitched her program to RTL channel boss Peter van der Vorst, with whom she has worked a lot for the series Gooische Vrouwen, which can be seen on Videoland. “They were very enthusiastic,” said De Mol.
Ultimately, she discussed the plan with her brother, Talpa boss John de Mol. “He eventually thought it was good,” the sixty-year-old presenter said earlier. “It’s really about a one-off project.” De Mol switched from RTL to Talpa in 2019.
