A motorist reported to the police on Saturday, after a body was found earlier in the day at the border crossing Hazeldonk. Agents suspect that the cyclist was hit and that the motorist has driven on.
“Possibly the man was hit by a car much earlier,” wrote the Brabant police on X. “Colleagues from forensic investigation come for technical investigation and to investigate traces found.”
The corps writes in a new message that the motorist concerned has reported and that the suspect will make a statement.
Both the Belgian and the Dutch police participate in the investigation. According to Omroep Brabant, the body was found on the Belgian side of the border, but the victim was hit in the Netherlands.
The police call on possible witnesses to report.
