Manchester City takes giant step towards Champions League football

Manchester City had a good night on Tuesday in terms of a Champions League ticket. Josep Guardiola’s team won 3-1 against AFC Bournemouth. Two red cards were given after halftime.

The first goal by City was the highlight of the night. Omar Marmoush advanced through the center and smashed the ball into the top corner from long range. Shortly after, Bernardo Silva doubled the score.

In the second half, City seemed to have some difficulty when Mateo Kovacic brought down a player with a clear chance and received a red card. But soon after, it was ten against ten after Lewis Cook received a red card for a rough foul.

A few minutes before the final whistle, Nico González put the score at 3-0. Daniel Jebbison’s 3-1 deep in injury time was only for the statistics.

Thanks to the victory, Manchester City is in an excellent position with a view to qualifying for the Champions League. This requires a place in the top five. Guardiola’s team will conclude the competition on Sunday with an away match against Fulham.

City welcomed two prodigal sons. Golden Ball winner Rodri came on after halftime and made his return after eight months of injury due to a torn cruciate ligament. Orange international Nathan Aké was in the match selection for the first time in more than two months.
