Manchester City closes record deal of more than 1 billion euros with sponsor PUMA

Manchester City has extended its contract with clothing sponsor Puma for ten years until 2035 on Tuesday. According to English media, the new deal will provide the superpower with a record amount of 1.15 billion euros.

City entered into a deal with Puma in 2019 worth 75 million euros per season. This amount is said to have increased to 115 million euros per year with the new ten-year agreement.

According to, among others, BBC and The Guardian, this is a record deal in English football. The old record has been held by Manchester United since 2023, which entered into a ten-year agreement with adidas worth around 1 billion euros.

The deal between City and Puma is considerably higher than the agreement that Liverpool entered into with adidas in March. The national champion reportedly receives around 70 million euros per year.

City finished third in the Premier League last season behind Arsenal and champion Liverpool. Manager Josep Guardiola’s team will start the new season on August 16 with an away match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
