On Friday evening, a man with violence removed a taxi driver from his car and then ran off by taxi. Shortly thereafter he caused an accident in which a woman was injured. The police arrested the man.
Around 11.40 pm the suspect ended at the taxi driver at the taxi stand on Burgemeester Brokxlaan. He said he needed a taxi and got into the car with the driver, the police written on Saturday.
Soon the driver did not trust the situation. He tried to get the man out of his car, but was then pushed and beaten “hard -handed”. The driver was worked out of the car, after which the suspect ran away with the vehicle.
Not much later, the suspect caused a collision at the Ringbaan-Zuid and Winkler Prinslaan intersection. A woman was injured. She was taken to the hospital.
The police were quickly on the spot and chased the man, who had set it on a run after the accident. Because he refused to stop, the agents used a power surge weapon. “Under heavy resistance” we managed to keep the man.
