Man drives in on group people in Germany, own wife and child under injured

A man drove into a group of people in southeastern Germany on Saturday. His own wife and daughter were among those injured. Five injured people were taken to the hospital. Police do not rule out intent.

The 48-year-old man has been arrested. Several people were injured, including his wife (38) and daughter (5), police say according to German media. Police suspect a custody dispute was the cause of the incident, reports local medium PNP.

The severity of the injuries is still unknown. The police are investigating the incident. The accident happened at 3:30 PM in Passau, a town near the border with Austria.

The suspect was driving a black Mercedes, as can be seen in images from PNP. The car sustained damage to the front left.
