Lucy Liu receives oeuvre prize at Filmfestival Locarno

Lucy Liu will receive a lifetime achievement award at the 78th Locarno Film Festival. The actress will accept the Career Achievement Award on August 14 at the Swiss event.

Liu’s latest film will premiere at the festival. Rosemead is based on true stories and is about a terminally ill Chinese immigrant who faces a disturbing obsession from his teenage son. In addition to her role in the film, Liu is also involved as a producer.

Liu had her breakthrough with the series Ally McBeal, for which she received an Emmy nomination. The actress is known for popular films such as Charlie’s Angels, Kill Bill, and the series Why Women Kill.

The Locarno Film Festival has been held since 1946. This year’s edition is from August 6 to 16.
