Good morning and welcome to this live blog. It has now been 24 hours since the ceasefire announced by President Trump came into effect. What followed was a turbulent day, in which the ceasefire seemed to be broken after only a few hours. Both countries accused each other of violating the ceasefire, much to Trump’s anger.
What went wrong is not clear. But in the course of the afternoon, both countries recommitted to the ceasefire. In Trump’s original plan, the ceasefire would officially take effect after exactly 24 hours, at 6:00 AM Dutch time. For now, it seems that the ceasefire has survived this.
