Kieran Culkin has landed a role in the upcoming Hunger Games film Sunrise on the Reaping. The actor will play the eccentric showmaster Caesar Flickerman, a character previously played by Stanley Tucci, reports trade magazine Variety.
Culkin won an Oscar this year for his supporting role in A Real Pain. He joins previously announced cast members such as Ralph Fiennes, Joseph Zada, and Whitney Peak.
Sunrise on the Reaping is the sixth installment in the Hunger Games series and will be released in theaters on November 20, 2026. The film is a prequel and takes place 24 years before the original trilogy. It centers on the sixteen-year-old Haymitch.
The popular Hunger Games book series is about the fictional country Panem. Every year, young people are selected to participate in the national Hunger Games, a television program for the entertainment of wealthy people in the country. The young people are thrown into an arena and must fight each other to the death until one winner remains.
