Kevin Spacey receives a career prize in Cannes: 'Very nice to be back'

Kevin Spacey received a career award on Tuesday at the Cannes Film Festival. The 65-year-old American actor said he was happy to be back at work. His career was stalled for years due to allegations of sexual misconduct.

It was the first time since 2016 that Spacey appeared on the red carpet at Cannes. In the wake of the allegations, he lost his role in the series House of Cards, among other things, and disappeared from the film world.

“I feel so much warmth and love. I have heard from so many friends and colleagues in the past week,” Spacey said at the award ceremony. “It’s very nice to be back.”

Spacey won Oscars for his roles in American Beauty and The usual suspects. Earlier this month, it was announced that the actor has a role in the conspiracy thriller The awakening. It is the American actor’s biggest film role since he was charged with sexual misconduct.
