Kendrick Lamar has won the most BET Awards, the awards for the best Black American actors, artists, and creators. The 37-year-old rapper received awards including best male hip-hop artist and album of the year.
Lamar also won the award for best music video of the year with Not Like Us. He shares the title of best music video director of the year with filmmaker Dave Free.
Because of his song Luther with SZA, the award for best collaboration also went to the rapper. Lamar accepted his awards himself on the stage of the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The award for best female artist went to SZA, and Chris Brown won in the category for men. Doechii is the best female hip-hop artist. Other winners include Cynthia Erivo (best actress) and Denzel Washington (best actor). Luther: Never Too Much has been named best film.
Blue Ivy Carter won the YoungStars Award, an award for young people who have an impact on the television, film, music, or sports world. The thirteen-year-old daughter of Beyoncé and JAY-Z won the award for the second year in a row.
