Arnold Karskens is contesting his dismissal from broadcaster Ongehoord Nederland. The former chairman confirms to ANP that he is appealing the court’s decision.
Karskens was dismissed in October last year after being previously suspended. The reason was an investigation into the work culture at ON!.
According to Karskens, the investigation report “is flawed in every way”. He also claims that there is “antisemitism and deep-seated racism” within the broadcaster, which he had to act against as a director.
In a civil procedure, he asked the court to reverse the dismissal, but the court ruled in favor of the broadcaster in March.
According to Karskens, the broadcaster is currently in poor condition. “I am the only one who can save this broadcaster,” he says. He also indicates that he is confident of a different outcome on appeal.
