Juventus wins with the outblinker Yildiz and substitute Koopmeiners again at World Cup clubs

Juventus defeated Moroccan side Wydad AC in the Club World Cup on Sunday. The team from Turin won 4-1 in Philadelphia with Teun Koopmeiners as a substitute.

Koopmeiners entered the field for Juventus at the start of the second half, but it was one of his teammates who claimed the main role. Kenan Yildiz was responsible for Juventus’ first three goals, although the Turk did not get the first goal credited to his name as it was deflected for the 1-0.

Between Juventus’ second and third goals, Thembinkosi Lorch scored the 2-1 for Wydad AC. He did so assisted by Nordin Amrabat, the former player of Omniworld, VVV-Venlo, and PSV.

Besides Amrabat, Bart Meijers also started for Wydad. He previously played for NAC Breda, Helmond Sport, and Almere City. Meijers had already been substituted with a yellow card when Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic scored the final goal with a penalty in the 94th minute.

Earlier, Juventus had already won 5-0 against Al Ain from the United Arab Emirates in the Club World Cup. In the last group match, Manchester City will be the opponent on Thursday evening (Dutch time).

Later on Sunday, Real Madrid will also be in action at the Club World Cup. Trainer Xabi Alonso’s team will face Mexican side Pachuca and has something to make up for. Real played to a disappointing draw against Al Hilal (1-1) in their first match.
